The Hataori Machi Festival is held in the charming old townscape of the Shimoyoshida area of ​​Fujiyoshida City. As befits a town known for its textiles, there are many weaving factories and artisans involved in the preparation process, and you can find carefully crafted textiles everywhere in the town. The Hataori Machi Festival will be held in the charming old townscape of the Shimoyoshida area of ​​Fujiyoshida City. The Gun'nai region, including Fujiyoshida, which spreads out at the foot of Mt. Fuji, has been a textile production area for over 1000 years. From twisting the yarn to warping, dyeing, weaving, and finishing, the entire process is completed in this region. This is all thanks to the efforts of the people who work in this town to create textiles with their high level of skill.

The "Hataori Machi Festival" was held for the first time on November 12th and 13th, 2016.

A collaborative promotional video has been completed featuring Hideaki Hamada, who held a photo exhibition themed on "weaving" at the event, and Gen Tanabe and Yuni Mori, who held a music concert. The video is filled with the sounds that breathe life into Fujiyoshida.

The third annual "Hataori Machi Festival 2018" was held in 2018.

Fujiyoshida is a town where you can still feel the remnants of the 30s and 40s, when the local textile industry was at its peak.
