Fujisan Station is the 15th station from Otsuki Station on the Fujikyu Railway Line. Named Fujisan Station in July 2011, it's the station closest to Mount Fuji. Upon alighting from the train, you're greeted by a magnificent view of Mount Fuji from the platform. The red torii gate on the north exit bus rotary side is a popular photo spot.

This hidden gem of a trekking course can be accessed from the bus stop just before the 5th station of the Fuji Subaru Line. The name "Niwa" (meaning "garden") evokes a natural paradise reminiscent of a garden, and the various alpine plants blooming along the way, along with the magnificent views of Mt. Fuji, are highly recommended. Seeing the impressive lava formations and the stunted hemlock and larch trees that have withstood wind and snow, it's easy to see why Okuniwa is called "the Tengu's playground."

Furthermore, the Ochudo trail connecting the fifth station and the Oniwa (main garden) is lined with rhododendrons blooming amidst larch and birch forests, earning it the nickname "Rhododendron Road." Take a stroll through this little-known garden of Mount Fuji.

Founded in 937 AD (Shohei 7), the shrine is located on the summit of Mount Komitake (the fifth station of Mount Fuji), a sacred site of mountain worship. The enshrined deity is Iwanagahime-no-Mikoto, known as the goddess of longevity and matchmaking. As a sacred site of mountain worship, it has long been a place of prayer, visited by many ascetics. There is an observation deck on the shrine grounds, offering panoramic views of the mountains in front and Lake Yamanaka, and in the summer mornings, visitors can witness the sunrise.

The classic lunch at the 5th station of Mt. Fuji is "Mt. Fuji Curry." This photogenic curry features rice shaped like Mt. Fuji, topped with a lava-like curry sauce, and even has a flag at the summit. It's perfect for a stamina-boosting meal before or after your climb.

2. Komitake Shop at the 5th Station of Mt. Fuji

This ice cream uses lingonberries, the red berries that grow around the fifth station of Mount Fuji. The sweet and sour taste of lingonberries combined with yogurt creates a refreshing and addictive flavor.
