Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine is the main shrine located at the northern entrance of the Yoshida Trail, which leads to the summit of Mount Fuji. It is one of the components of the Mount Fuji World Heritage Site and has a history of over 1900 years. From the approach lined with giant trees to the majestic main hall, people gather here throughout the year.

Near the purification fountain on the temple grounds, there is a ginkgo tree that is approximately 400 years old, and after its leaves fall, you can enjoy a beautiful sight that resembles a yellow carpet.

Fumotoya is located very close to Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine. The restaurant is situated along the national highway and has a large parking lot and plenty of seating, so you can enjoy your meal at your leisure. The noodles have just the right amount of chewiness, making it a great choice for those new to Yoshida udon. The most popular dish is the Nikukin Udon, which is topped with horse meat and kinpira (braised burdock root and carrot), and regulars often order the limited-edition mixed rice along with it. The complimentary pickles are also a welcome palate cleanser.

After lunch, it's time for sweets. Tyrol, with two locations in Fujiyoshida City, is a popular Western-style confectionery shop frequented by locals. Their cakes, made with highland butter from the foot of Mt. Fuji and their original blend of fresh cream, are known for being both reasonably priced and delicious. Their bread, made with natural yeast from domestically grown organic rice, is also popular and makes a great small gift.

Every year from late October to early November, the "Yoshida Autumn Leaves Festival" is held at Fujisan Museum Park. Visitors can enjoy various autumn foliage displays, such as a corridor of Japanese maple trees and the illuminated autumn leaves at Kaneyama Falls, as well as various events including a 3D theater, food trucks, fireworks, and jazz concerts.

Finally, refresh yourself at a day-trip hot spring. The spring water uses natural vanadium water from Mt. Fuji, and is full of beneficial properties, attracting attention for its important components in maintaining beautiful skin and good health.

From the open-air bath, you can see Mount Fuji. While Mount Fuji is impressive during the day, its massive silhouette against the night sky at night is truly breathtaking.
